Yoga practice in nature

Not a style.
A foundation.

Most yoga teacher trainings teach you one style. This training teaches you what is foundational to all styles — so you can teach any of them with confidence, intelligence, and authenticity.

The CYS 200-hour training is grounded in the five techniques of Hatha Yoga: stillness (asana), rhythm (vinyasa), breath (pranayama), integration (bandha), and presence (drushti). These are not five separate subjects. They are five dimensions of a single, unified practice — and learning to work with all of them simultaneously is what makes a great teacher.

You will learn how to language and sequence these techniques in ways that continuously reveal their wholeness and invite infinite creativity. How you arrange them moves them toward any "style" you choose to teach — restorative, vinyasa flow, alignment-based, or something entirely your own.

You will leave with the method to address your entire life in a new way — not just your teaching.

Skills for Teaching

Step into the seat
of the teacher — right away.

01

Teach any style, any level. Guide beginners and advanced practitioners alike, across styles, with ease and confidence.

02

Teach beyond asana. Confidently guide students through postures, breath work (Pranayama), and meditation.

03

Sequence creatively and intelligently. Design classes that flow with purpose and inspiration, while keeping students safe and engaged.

04

Cue with clarity. Offer instructions that allow each student to make adjustments relevant to their own body — without confusion or overwhelm.

05

Offer seamless modifications. Suggest instant modifications that keep the rhythm of the class intact and empower students to practice safely.

06

Provide trauma-sensitive adjustments. Use non-invasive, respectful approaches to hands-on adjustments that prioritize student safety and choice.

07

Meet students where they are. Adapt your teaching to every person in the room, regardless of age, body type, or level of experience.

08

Step into professionalism. Interact successfully with studios, employers, and communities — equipped to thrive as a teacher from day one.

This training gives you not only the knowledge but the embodied skill to teach with authenticity, adaptability, and grace.

Skills for Life

The Circle Yoga Method is a
framework for living.

01

Meet stress with new tools. Develop practical strategies for grounding and resilience when life feels overwhelming.

02

Recognize unhelpful patterns. Notice when your usual coping strategies interfere with what's really needed — and choose differently.

03

Use your voice with confidence. Project clearly and powerfully without sounding harsh or aggressive.

04

Balance support with self-care. Understand the difference between being of service and losing yourself, so you can give sustainably.

05

Bring presence to daily life. Cultivate the ability to direct your attention and energy with intention — in relationships, work, and creative pursuits.

06

Express with respect. Share your cherished beliefs in ways that honor your truth without invalidating others' perspectives.

The Circle Yoga Method

How you stand out
with our method.

Our Foundational 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training is built on the Circle Yoga Method — a living practice that honors both tradition and innovation. We believe that Yoga should meet you where you are, and our approach reflects that.

Whether you choose to teach Yoga at the end of the training or not, you will become a confident, competent, and adaptable human — and you'll carry these skills into every other aspect of your life.

This is a space free of competitiveness or pressure to be perfect. Learning happens in the company of people who genuinely support and encourage one another.

Grounded in biomechanics

Designed for all bodies — not just the stretchy, young, or injury-free. You'll learn how to work safely and intelligently with real human bodies in all their diversity.

Aligned with the mind

We work with the nature of attention, rather than against it — so your practice and teaching feel natural, grounded, and sustainable.

Philosophy for real life

Eastern wisdom without dismissing Western life — learning how to live Yoga in a modern world.

Authentic teaching, not scripts

You'll understand, integrate, and express the teachings in your own voice. You won't leave sounding like anyone but yourself.

Infinite creative sequencing

Instead of preset sequences, you'll discover principles that open endless possibilities for arranging postures with clarity and creativity.

Who This Training Is For

For those who know Yoga is
more than exercise.

You're tired of doing the same old sun salutations and long for creativity and freedom in your practice.

You've ever been hurt in a yoga class because the teacher didn't know how to help you find your edge — and you want to understand how to practice safely and intelligently.

You dream of building a home practice that feels nourishing, sustainable, and truly your own.

You don't want to be boxed into just one style of yoga — you want the tools to adapt, evolve, and teach in a way that feels authentic to you.

You want to explore yoga beyond asana — deepen your understanding of breathwork, meditation, and the self-inquiry dimension of this practice.

You've already completed a 200-hour YTT but still don't feel confident stepping into teaching — and you're ready for a method that actually prepares you.

You feel called to share yoga with a specific community — whether that's elders, children, athletes, or others who don't always see themselves reflected in a typical studio class.

At its heart, this program is for seekers — for those who want yoga to be a living, breathing part of their lives. It's for anyone who dreams of teaching with confidence, practicing with freedom, and being of service in a way that is meaningful and real.

The foundation of
all of Hatha Yoga.

Asana
Stillness

The art of intelligent, sustainable posture — not as performance but as a vehicle for awareness.

Vinyasa
Rhythm

The intelligent sequencing of movement — how practices are structured to reveal a coherent, evolving arc.

Pranayama
Breath

The science of breath as the bridge between body, nervous system, and the deeper dimensions of practice.

Bandha
Integration

The energetic seals that direct and contain the life force — making practice coherent from the inside out.

Drushti
Presence

The focused gaze — both literal and metaphorical — that anchors attention and cultivates meditative depth.

Four intensives.
One complete training.

The training unfolds across four four-day intensive weekends over the course of the academic year — beginning in the fall and completing in the spring. Each intensive builds on the last, creating a progression of depth, skill, and integration.

Between intensives, you'll have home practices and assignments to support the integration of what you've learned — so the work doesn't stop when the weekend ends.
